NPower and Seattle Foundation: Walking the talk when it comes to staff training
What is it like to work for one of the nation’s largest community foundations? According to Barb Peterson, Office Manager “The people who work here are committed to the mission and they love their work. I’ve been impressed from the beginning by a culture of respect for each other, and for the community.” This culture of respect led Peterson to listen when staff said they needed more support and structure, like specific class recommendations, in order to make time in their schedules for technology training. In response, she contacted NPower Seattle and implemented a series of private classes. Peterson’s advice to other human resource leaders who are fielding similar requests? “It’s a no brainer. Just do it. NPower makes it easy and their staff is so knowledgeable.
