Peter Klein first led finance for the Developer and Platform Evangelism Division, and now serves as the Chief Financial Officer for the Windows Server and Tools division. Prior to joining Microsoft, Peter spent 13 years in corporate finance in the Seattle area, primarily in the communications and technology sectors. This includes 4 years at McCaw Cellular Communications, where Peter helped drive the planning and implementation of the nationwide digital cellular network. When McCaw was sold to AT&T, he moved to Orca Bay Capital, a private equity firm, where for 3 years he managed a portfolio of public and private equity, debt, and real property. Subsequently, he held senior finance positions at 3 startups, including Terabeam Networks, Homegrocer.com (where as VP and Treasurer he helped lead an IPO and subsequent acquisition by Webvan), and Asta Networks, where he was CFO.
