Colin Lovell

Fund Development Associate

Since moving to Seattle in 2001, Colin began a fraught journey to finding his place in the nonprofit world.  After providing direct service for 4 years at Seattle Counseling Service as first office manager and later client services coordinator, increasing burn out led him to reevaluate his focus on direct client contact.  Because of positive experiences assisting in gift solicitation, grant writing and event production, he switched his focus to the field of development and has been as happy as a clam (if clams are in fact happy) ever since.

After spending a year at Lifelong AIDS Alliance getting a crash course in all things donor database related, major event production and work place giving, Colin joined the NPower Seattle team in February 2008.  He hopes to use his fund raising prowess and information accuracy to grow individual giving, increase matching gifts and begin a program to not only increase volunteer connection but also corporate sponsorship of volunteer opportunities.

When not at work, Colin enjoys reading nonfiction, playing noncombat video games and spending time with pals.  While always a Midwesterner at heart, he has grown to love Seattle where his island of misfit toys resides.  Besides himself and his partner, Colin lives with an extremely angry cat, a one eyed dog and a giant poodle.  Colin says “Real men love poodles.  They’re not just dumb haircuts, you know?”
