--Earned Income Tax Credit Project, 2005-2007
Thanks to support from the Medina Foundation, NPower Seattle's Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) Project strengthened the technology competency of nonprofit staff in teaching clients about online tax preparation tools. Our immediate goal was to inspire more widespread use of technology tools that can help to address the problem of millions of dollars in unclaimed Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) credits. Longer term, this was a demonstration project on the effective use of online tools to better serve low income families and individuals in our community.
As part of this project we assembled a toolkit on Using Online Tools .
In 2007 our direct work on the EITC Project transitioned to supporting the Asset Building and Financial Self-Sufficiency efforts of Community Technology providers in Washington State through our partnership with Communities Connect Network (CCN).
