NPower's training team offers top-notch classes that are focused and priced for nonprofits. We regularly offer full and half-day training, mini-workshops and private trainings at our lab located in Seattle's Central Area neighborhood.
About our training
NPower's Training is designed for the nonprofit user at all skill levels - and our rates offer an excellent value.
We offer training in our 12-person, wheelchair accessible computer lab for commonly used computer applications and skills. Each classroom workstation is equipped with high-speed Internet access and a full range of software applications. We also offer seminar-style training such as Designing and Planning a Database, Website Planning, Technology Strategies for Non-Profit Leaders, and more. Classes can be offered and even customized for private groups. NPower's lending library of resource and reference books are available for a loan period of three weeks.
Who can take a class?
NPower's training is open to staff, and volunteers who play a key role, at 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations (excluding places of worship) in the Puget Sound area.
Staff and volunteers of other 501(c) organizations (including nonprofit educational institutions, associations, civic leagues, clubs, etc.) may also register for training on a stand-by basis at non-member rates.
Class Cancellation: NPower may cancel a class due to low enrollment or an emergency. In the case of low enrollment, notice will be provided no less than three business days in advance.
Withdrawal: In the event that you must withdraw from a class, we will not bill you only if you notify us at least 3 business days in advance. If you are only able to provide advance notice of less than three business days, you can retake the class on a space available basis for only a $10 administrative fee. If you are unable to provide advance notice at all, you can retake the class on a space available basis for a $20 administrative fee.
Late for Class: Please plan to arrive at least five minutes prior to the scheduled beginning of a class. Students who are more than 15 minutes late may be refused entry to class at the instructor's discretion.
Registration Name Change: NPower does not change student names on registrations. Only in instances when your organization has been charged for a class after a student withdrawal, and the student is no longer with your organization, will a student name change occur. The name change to the class registration must occur within 6 months of the original class date, and NPower should be contacted at 206.286.8880 or Training@NPowerSeattle.org to make this change. For each change the appropriate administrative fee will apply.
Inclement Weather: Class cancellations due to inclement weather will generally correspond with the closure of Seattle Public Schools. To confirm whether or not a class will be held, call us after 7:30 am on the day of your class for a voice-mail announcement.
Facilities: NPower's offices are wheelchair accessible. If you need ASL interpretation, we will waive your registration fee and refer you to an interpreter.
Parking: Street parking is available on Jackson and other side streets in the area East of 23rd Ave S and is not timed. Parking is no longer available in the Bank of America lot. Please do not park in the Bank of America lot or in the Welch Plaza Building parking as you will be at risk of being towed. View a map.
