Network & Desktop Support

The crucial first step to accomplishing NPower Seattle's mission to ensure that all nonprofits can use technology to better serve their communities is ensuring they have Stable and Secure technology infrastructures from which to conduct their day-to-day operations.  If your organization is operating outside of minimum standards, it will likely face frequent system instability, security breaches, and a general lack of performance and productivity.  This distracts and detours you from working on your core mission and helping your community effectively.

NPower delivers services to help you achieve and maintain a stable and secure network in three steps:

  • Our consultants can assess your current infrastructure and provide a report that outlines recommended improvements as well as the associated budgets for hardware, software, and services.
  • Next, we can work with you on implementing those recommendations.  We understand that organizations are often working with scarce resource, so we can work with you to prioritize and phase improvement projects over time.
  • Finally, we can help you maintain your stable and secure network.  Our approach is to build a relationship through an assigned consultant who will make scheduled visits to maintain systems, troubleshoot problems, answer user questions, and provide coaching on your network.  This individual relationship is backed up with the support of a broader team of network consultants.

Network Projects

Our team has experience building, repairing, and maintaining networks for nonprofits of all sizes.  From simple desktop installations and peer-to-peer networks to large, multi-site server networks, we can help you design and implement a system tailored to the specific needs of your organization.

We can also help you with technology assessments to evaluate your current network capabilities and future requirements to develop prioritized recommendations for addressing immediate and long‐term needs.  If you would like, we can help with the implementation of those recommendations as well.

Scheduled Support

Scheduled Support is the name for our regularly scheduled, onsite maintenance visits.  Our skilled consultants will verify that your computers and servers have the latest software updates, protect your systems from viruses and spyware, and work proactively to ensure that your network runs smoothly between scheduled visits.  They will also troubleshoot problems as they arise, and provide individual user support and coaching as time allows.  Scheduled Support provides you with ongoing, preventative computer and network support that can be predictably budgeted.

Support Line

During standard business hours, NPower members can access NPower’s Support Line for assistance in troubleshooting problems or performing routine maintenance that occur between Scheduled Support visits.  If an issue cannot be solved by remotely or over the phone, the Support Line will arrange for one of our network consultants to respond quickly in order to resolve the issue.
