NPower Seattle Blogs

What is a Blog and why is NPower Seattle Blogging?

A blog (short for "weblog") is a terrific way to quickly and broadly share information. Initial blogs were focused on diaries or journals for personal use - but have quickly been adopted as a means for nonprofits, businesses and other types of agencies to encourage key employees to share information, trends, data and other information with key stakeholders.

Blogging isn't just a technology, although there ARE lots of tools that make blogging easy. It's more about increasing transparency and interaction - so blogs tend to have more "personality" than do a website or a newsletter, and take on the charateristics of the person writing. We hope you enjoy reading NPower Seattle Blogs, and encourage you to comment frequently!

Patrick Shaw, Consulting Resource Manager

There are a LOT of resources for nonprofits needing assistance with technology - but here in the Puget Sound, NPower Seattle has been providing technology assistance for 7 years. We’ve learned a lot about websites, databases, data networking (that’s what we call servers, printers, workstations, and all of the other periperhals that help you get your computers connected), as well as technology planning. And our Education team provides terrific training in our lab as well as a host of other workshops and events that can help your nonprofit figure out how to use technology efficiently to better serve your mission.

I’ve been a member of the Consulting Team for almost four years now, and in my position here at NPower Seattle, a LOT of information crosses my desk - and you’ll see that information here, as well as links for additional information!
