Websites

NPower uses Plone, an easy to use content management system to deliver websites that you can edit and update using your internet browser.

NPower uses Plone, which is an open source content management system, to deliver high quality and easy to update websites to our nonprofit customers.

NPower has designed and implemented more that 40 Plone websites for local nonprofits, ranging from small sized websites to large ones that include integration with Salesforce and other databases.

 Planning

Website planning will help you save time and money. You'll want to ensure that your website planning includes:

  • Branding that matches the rest of your materials (brochure, annual reports, business cards)
  • A clear audience identification (donors, board members, clients)
  • Budgeting for a visual design that meets those first two needs and helps your site visitors quickly take action
  • Time for your team to review designs, decide on site functions (blog, video, other items) and to test them when ready
  • Time for training for your team

 Implementation

We produce your website in 5 phases:

  • Create an effective site map (this helps us know how many templates we'll need to create)
  • Create or review your visual design (some of our customers use their own designer)
  • Code your Plone website, including the visual design and any of the "extra" features you need, such as a blog, a discussion board, or integration with other tools)
  • Testing of your site to ensure that it displays well in different internet browsers
  • Documentation, Training and Launch

 Hosting

Plone requires a special hosting environment. We host our Plone websites on servers we've leased from a vendor. That means that your site is backed up regularly and has redundant hardware in place in case of a network failure.

You can get started with a possible project by calling us at at (206) 286-8880 or sending us a note to find out how we can help.
