About Our Training
NPower's Training is designed for the nonprofit user at all skill levels - and our rates offer an excellent value.
We offer training in our 12-person, wheelchair accessible computer lab for commonly used computer applications and skills. Each classroom workstation is equipped with high-speed Internet access and a full range of software applications and Social Media. Classes can be offered and even customized for private groups. NPower's lending library of resource and reference books are available for a loan period of three weeks.
Who Can Take A Class?
NPower's training is open to staff, and volunteers who play a key role, at 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations (excluding places of worship) in the Puget Sound area.
Staff and volunteers of other 501(c) organizations (including nonprofit educational institutions, associations, civic leagues, clubs, etc.) may also register for training at non-member rates.
Training Policies
Class Cancellation: NPower may cancel a class due to low enrollment or an emergency. In the case of low enrollment, notice will be provided no less than three business days in advance.
Withdrawal: In the event that you must withdraw from a class, we will not bill you only if you notify us at least 3 business days in advance. If you are only able to provide advance notice of less than three business days, you can retake the class on a space available basis for only a $10 administrative fee. If you are unable to provide advance notice at all, you can retake the class on a space available basis for a $20 administrative fee.
Late for Class: Please plan to arrive at least five minutes prior to the scheduled beginning of a class. Students who are more than 15 minutes late may be refused entry to class at the instructor's discretion.
Class Retake: Interested in taking a class a second time to refresh what you learned or to fill in the gaps? NPower will waive the class fee for retaking an open training class if the retake occurs within 6 months of the original class date. Students will be charged a $10 administrative fee, and will be placed on stand-by status until three working days prior to the class, and then be switched to full registration status if there is sufficient space in the class. To register for a retake, submit the class registration form online or via fax, and indicate that you are retaking the class and the date of the original class.
Registration Name Change: NPower does not change student names on registrations. Only in instances when your organization has been charged for a class after a student withdrawal, and the student is no longer with your organization, will a student name change occur. The name change to the class registration must occur within 6 months of the original class date, and NPower should be contacted at 206.286.8880 or Training@NPowerSeattle.org to make this change. For each change the appropriate administrative fee will apply.
Inclement Weather: Class cancellations due to inclement weather will generally, but not always, correspond with the closure of Seattle Public Schools. To confirm whether or not a class will be held, call us after 7:30 am on the day of your class for a voice-mail announcement.
Facilities: Out of consideration for those with chemical sensitivities, we ask that you refrain from wearing any perfumes or other scented products to class.
NPower's offices are wheelchair accessible. If you need ASL interpretation, we will waive your registration fee and refer you to an interpreter.
Parking: Please arrive 10 minutes before class start time to find street parking. Street parking is available on Jackson and other side streets in the area East of 23rd Ave S and is not timed. Parking is no longer available in the Bank of America lot or below our building, (Welch Plaza.) Please do not park in either of these lcoations as you will be at risk of being towed.
